Sustainability at Prospectus

Sustainability at Prospectus means being authentic. It means we don’t greenwash our emissions, we’re transparent about the challenges we face, and above all else, we’re doing this because we truly want to protect our planet and ensure a better future for everyone.

Our Sustainability Journey

  • September  Managing Director takes responsibility for setting our strategy for sustainability at Board level.
  • July  Prospectus holds organisation wide ‘Environment Day’ to explore challenges, opportunities and engagement with sustainability.

Our Future Ambitions

  • Prospectus to host an event to share learning with our networks.
  • Complete a sustainability kitemark accreditation
  • Assess and measure our scope 3 emissions
  • Prospectus Board to formally agree Net Zero target
  • Build sustainability into the Prospectus careers site
  • Hold workshops with the Prospectus team on engaging externally on sustainability
  • Curate any existing content on sustainability and build a proportionate programme of content over the coming months

Our Scope Emissions

What are Scope Emissions?

A company’s greenhouse emissions are measured in three scopes.

Scope 1: emissions produced directly by the company.

Scope 2: emissions caused indirectly by the company through the energy it purchases.

Scope 3: emissions not produced by the company or through company owned / controlled assets, but from those the company is indirectly responsible for.

Sustainability in the Not-For-Profit Sector Survey Report

In addition to the actions we are taking internally, we are keen to amplify voices and knowledge on sustainability externally. To support that strand of our work we recently put together a short survey to help us better understand the perceptions and values of sustainability in our community. In addition, we included some questions within the survey that covered protected characteristics in order to understand the intersectionality of sustainability and diversity.

We were so pleased to have 248 responses to our survey with a diverse range of respondents and with answers covering responsibility, considerations, credentials and much more, the report makes for a really interesting read.
