Head of Philanthropy

Tate exists to increase public awareness, understanding and appreciate of British art from the 16th century to the present day, and of international modern and contemporary art. The Tate Development office was founded in 1990 and has arguably operated as the most successful, prestigious contemporary art development teams in the world.

In the autumn of 2021, the Tate Leadership approached Prospectus to recruit a new Head of Philanthropy. A newly created role with a large, multi-disciplinary team reporting to the postholder, Prospectus launched an exhaustive, extensive search into the arts, culture, and heritage sectors to ensure this fantastic opportunity would be considered by the very best fundraisers in the UK.

Beginning in post in January 2022, Nancy Hitzig took up the position after a rigorous, competitive recruitment process which saw representation on the longlist from a number of high-calibre fundraising institutions. Nancy is already delivering exciting major donor events and bespoke tours, developing new cases for support, and leading a fantastic team.
