1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England. For Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to highlight the incredible work that is happening in the Charity Sector. What are the positive changes being made, what are the challenges we are facing and what are organisations doing to look after the health and wellbeing of their staff?

We were delighted to speak with Linda Bryant, Chief Executive of Together for Mental Wellbeing to explore this further. Since Together was formed in 1879, they have believed that people with mental health issues have the right and the abilities to lead independent, fulfilling lives as part of their communities. They offer a wide variety of support to help people deal with the personal and practical impacts of mental health issues.

In our interview, Linda shares her thoughts and insights with us on how the conversation around mental distress is increasing but there is still more to be done. From the changes, they want to see in the services we all receive that aren’t currently built on people’s own experiences, the rise in demand for children’s mental health services following the pandemic, to what you can do to support the health and wellbeing of yourself and your team members in work.

Together provide a range of services to meet the different needs of people with mental health issues. If you are looking for help or support you can visit their website and use the service locator to find your nearest service.
