Director of Development
Prospectus were invited by Zoological Society of
London (ZSL) to be an exclusive partner in the
recruitment to a reimagined Director of Development
role for the organisation. With ambitious plans of a
large-scale capital appeal and their upcoming 200-
year anniversary, this appointment was critical for
the delivery of income generation.
The Director of Development would join ZSL’s Senior Leadership Team and play an integral role in leading and delivering a £300million plus capital campaign. With a focus on high value fundraising and income generation from both a national and international sources, this role required an experienced income generation leader.
Prospectus worked with ZSL to advise and create the role criteria, job pack, and market positioning to ensure the role was competitive. We then undertook a detailed search across our networks and resources, focusing on the key criteria of the role to ensure potential applicants had the required skillset and ambition to deliver ZSL’s goals.
The selected candidate had worked both within higher education and cause related charities securing income for capital campaigns, as well as building long term fundraising strategies to grow and diversify income generation. Catherine Hart joined in January 2024 and brings experience from UCL, Cancer Research UK, and many others
