Chief Executive

With unemployment expected to reach new highs and millions already out of work, creating employment and supporting business has never been more crucial. The Work Avenue Foundation (Work Avenue) provides people in the Jewish community with essential lifelong skills to support themselves and their families by helping people into work and supporting the building of sustainable businesses. Work Avenue helps people to achieve financial independence, with a focus on dignity.

We were seeking an inspirational leader to grow Work Avenue to its next level of impact by reviewing the current landscape and identifying new opportunities to reach and support more members of the community. This would include developing networks with businesses, relationships with donors and supporters, and driving sustainable income. We undertook a search across the charity, private and public sectors to identify leaders with a track record of developing organisations to excel, and with experience of building and maintaining a breadth of stakeholder relationships.

David Arden was appointed to the role. David brought extensive experience in communal leadership, management consulting, public affairs and organisational transformation across the public and charity sector to the role, most recently as Chief Executive of the S&P Sephardi Community, a £2m plus charity which David restructured, modernised and returned to financial stability.
