UK Youth is a leading charity with a vision that all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives.
With a new 2025 strategy, “Unlocking Youth Work”, they had an ambitious programme of strategic growth and change; and the evolution of their Charity’s operating model was critical to their success.
Prospectus were mandated to find and attract a Chief Operating Officer to be responsible for a growth and transformation strategy, ensuring the Charity is fit for purpose and able to meet and exceed their ambitions.
We were looking for an exceptional, values driven individual with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective organisational operating models in an environment where growth and income generation are key features. Candidates needed to bring strong financial analysis/modelling skills as well as an ability to develop operational and digital capabilities. Most importantly, candidates had to share their commitment to achieving lasting, positive change for young people.
We attracted over 70 applications for the role, from which nine were taken forward to shortlist. After a competitive interview process, Laura Badley, formerly Director of Operations at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust was appointed to the role. Along with a strong operational and leadership track record, Laura also brought her experience as a youth ambassador for UK Sail Training.
