Director of Development

The National Forest is about so much more than trees. It’s a nationally inspiring place, working in partnership to mitigate and adapt to the urgency of climate change and demonstrate sustainable living a real place.

To formalise the approach to a successful history of development, the Board and Chief Executive approved the appointment of a new Director of Development.
The Director of Development sits within the National Forest’s Senior Leadership Team and leads the Development Team, made up of fundraising, marketing, and communications specialists. With a dotted line report to the Development Working Group the Director would have significant budget to invest in the team, processes, and marketing ideas to further fundraising efforts across the Forest in Derbyshire and beyond.
The selected candidate fought off stiff competition from a robust candidate panel that included fundraising leaders from across the beyond-profit sector, demonstrating a commitment to nature and the excitement of philanthropy in this area to secure the role.
