Safeguarding Manager
The Freedom Fund is a leading beyond profit organisation working within the global movement to end modern slavery. The organisation identifies and invests in the most effective frontline efforts to eradicate modern slavery in the countries and sectors where it is most prevalent. Partnering with visionary investors, governments, anti-slavery organisations and those at risk of exploitation, they tackle the systems that allow slavery to persist and thrive. Through these consolidated partnerships, they protect vulnerable populations, liberate and reintegrate those enslaved, and prosecute those responsible. The Freedom Fund bring new funding and innovative investors into the anti-slavery space, with the goal of mobilising the capital needed to work on the frontlines, drive systemic change and strengthen the anti-slavery infrastructure globally.
Prospectus were approached by The Freedom Fund to support with the recruitment of a Safeguarding Manager. The purpose of this role was to play a pivotal role in coordinating the development of a safeguarding framework that would drive awareness of the measures through training and guidance to partners, staff and volunteers. The Safeguarding Manager would be instrumental in embedding good practice across the organisation, while instilling safeguarding as a regular and substantial consideration. A key facet of this post was to develop tools that enabled partners to employ better safeguarding across the delivery of The Freedom Fund’s work, as well as providing a focus for reports, allegations and developing appropriate responses.
Prospectus provided a range of suitable Safeguarding professionals with experience within the Human Rights, International Development, and Anti-Slavery sectors. Following a successful interview process, The Freedom Fund appointed Laura Cuzzuol, an exceptional Safeguarding Consultant who has a proven track record of building outstanding safeguarding and protection frameworks and nurturing key relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels. As a humanitarian, a project manager and safeguarding/PSEA advisor, Laura has over 15 years of sector experience including many major policies and reports releases.
