Trustee
Right to Succeed brings communities together to transform outcomes for children because they believe every child deserves the right to succeed, no matter where they live.
Right to Succeed is a fast-growing charity making the transition from start-up to a sustainable, impactful organisation. It was founded in March 2015, and takes a collective approach to creating positive change for children, working to generate place-based change in the most left-behind communities nationally. Everyone who works with and for the charity is dedicated to trying to solve these challenges, bringing together local and national partners to overcome the barriers that are preventing children living in poverty, doing well at school and beyond.
At this exciting time, as Right to Succeed continue to grow and scale their work, the board were looking to recruit a Trustee with senior fundraising experience. This Trustee would support the Board’s knowledge of fundraising and advise the executive in devising fundraising strategies. Right to Succeed sought an individual with leadership experience and the ability to Chair the Development Committee.
Working with Prospectus, Right to Succeed appointed Madhu Rajesh, who has spent the last decade of her career working in the not-for-profit sector on a range of development issues, including poverty and inequality, education and livelihoods, gender equality, water & sanitation, sustainable cities and human rights. Madhu currently works as CEO for the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance. She joined the Alliance from WSUP (Water & Sanitation for Urban Poor), where she was Director for Partnerships & Development, and previously she worked for The British Asian Trust. Madhu has also held several volunteer roles including Chairperson of Clean Team Ghana, Trustee of Halcrow Foundation and as a business coach for Cartier’s Women’s Initiative Awards.

“Prospectus did a truly excellent job in our recent Trustee recruitment process. We were very particular in what we wanted. They carefully listened and understood the context of our charity and what we were precisely looking for, and produced both a longlist and shortlist of very high calibre candidates. They professionally guided us through the process, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate. We are delighted with the appointment we made and know that she will bring to our Board the exact skills and experience we identified as required.”
