Interim Director of Communications, Campaigns and UK Programmes

Plan International UK advances children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world. Working in over 50 countries across Africa, Asia and The Americas as well as in the UK Plan International UK provides vital support to children, their families and their communities, including child protection, child participation, health, education and economic security.  

With a new structure and vision in place for the Communications, Campaigns and UK Programmes directorate we were looking for a Director to establish this vision through strong, supportive leadership and the ambition to deliver new plans during a 1 year maternity cover contract. At an exciting time as they prepared to launch their new organisational strategy, the Interim Director of Communications, Campaigns and UK Programmes needed to ensure Plan UK’s brand position went from strength to strength.

We were looking for a positive, proactive and inspiring leader who could truly enable and develop their teams and is adept at both providing hands-on support and strategic direction.

The placed candidate was a senior leader with extensive experience in all aspects of campaigns, content, marketing and public relations. They had developed campaigns, partnerships and stories for iconic brands in the UK and globally, across business, charity and development sectors and led multi- disciplinary teams to effectively implement them.
