Chief Executive

Just for Kids Law wants all children and young people in the UK to have their legal rights and entitlements respected and promoted, and their voices heard and valued. They do this by providing legal representation and advice, direct youth advocacy and support, strategic litigation and campaigning.

Over the past four years, Just for Kids Law had increased its reach, grown in size and achieved strong financial sustainability under the leadership of a CEO recruited by Prospectus. Our brief this time was to find someone who could build close relationships with donors to secure additional income, raise the profile and represent the organisation across a broad range of stakeholders.

Against the back drop of a lock-down environment and having just successfully appointed a Director of Policy and Participation for Just for Kids Law, we leveraged our sector knowledge mobilised our networks to attract a high-quality group of candidates with sound strategic experience, experience of implementing growth strategies, and a strong understanding of the needs of the children and youth sector, particularly at this challenging time in our history.

After a competitive process, Louisa McGeehan, former Director of Policy, Rights and Advocacy at Child Poverty Action Group was chosen. Louisa brings a passion from her own lived experience, an inclusive leadership style and experience from the Ministry of Justice and Department of Health.
