EngineeringUK is a not-for-profit organisation passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and creating a diverse future workforce. EngineeringUK work in partnership with hundreds of organisations across the engineering community to inspire tomorrow’s engineers and increase the number and diversity of young people choosing academic and vocational pathways into engineering
EngineeringUK were seeking to appoint a new Director of Engagement Programmes; responsible for driving their work to grow the collective impact of all engineering and technology inspiration and careers activities with young people. Additionally, the Director would also lead on two cross-cutting areas that are threaded through their work – Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Environmental Sustainability.
Prospectus were mandated to identify and engage potential candidates with excellent experience of developing projects for young people and a strong understanding of STEM and funders. As a member of the Executive Team, inspiring leadership, excellent communication, relationship building and networking skills would be crucial to the success of this role.
The role was enormously popular attracting over 150 applications and a shortlist of 12 candidates from diverse backgrounds from leading STEM organisations, funders, the education space and the commercial and CSR space. Ultimately Maddie Dinwoodie was appointed bringing extensive experience of leading teams, strategic partnerships and programmes to drive social and environmental impact, most recently as Chief Programme Officer at UK Youth.
