Director of Creative Confident Communities & A Fairer Future
Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is a leading independent funder. They aim to improve our natural world, secure a fairer future and strengthen the bonds in communities in the UK. They provide grants to organisations working in the arts, children and young people, sustainable food and environment, and social change. They also have an allocation of £45 million for social investment to support organisations creating social impact.
Their strategy is underpinned by the need to tackle structural inequality, racism and the causes and impacts of climate change. The Director of Creative Confident Communities and A Fairer Future is a key member of their senior management team and will shape and drive their impact in these two areas. The Director will play a pivotal role in implementing the new approach, creating an ambitious road map, horizon scanning to identify gaps, joining the dots between people and opportunities, brokering ideas and convening to make the greatest impact.

Veda Harrison was appointed to the role and brought a wide range of experience in cross sector delivery across the cultural, charitable, community and corporate sectors. Previous organisations included Paul Hamlyn Foundation, NatWest Group and Southbank Centre. Veda is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
