Trustees

In 2021 Crisis, the national charity for people facing homelessness, merged with Pathway, the leading homeless healthcare charity, in a bid to tackle the health inequalities impacting those who are homeless and ensure that the healthcare system plays its part in ending homelessness across Great Britain. The need for their services is increasing, and with the cost-of-living crisis upon us, it was critical that both organisations adapt what they do to achieve maximum impact.
Prospectus was engaged to find multiple Trustees for both Crisis and Pathway boards.
Crisis needed to ensure that as a values-based organisation, their Trustees are a critical part of an organisation that is people-centred and forward-thinking. This includes ensuring decisions are made alongside people who have experienced homelessness. In the context of their current strategic challenges, future ambitions, and gaps on the Board, we worked with them to find three or four new Trustees for their Board.
In tandem we worked with Pathway to find new Trustees who are highly credible and engaged senior leaders to join Pathway’s motivated and collaborative Trustee Board. We were looking for applicants who would be committed to improving the lives of people who are socially excluded, homeless and vulnerable, as well as a willingness to learn more about the impact of homelessness and associated health issues.
We made five appointments to the Board of Crisis and two appointments to the Board of Pathway. Three of these Trustee appointments had lived experience of homelessness.
“Thank you Jess to both Jess Stockford and Emily Hayman for the fantastic partnership and support in the process! A real pleasure working with you both, and delighted of course to join the Crisis team.”
— Sapna Dutta, new Trustee, Crisis
