Director of Development
The Birmingham Royal Ballet, directed by Carlos Acosta, is one of the world’s greatest touring classical ballet companies. At home in Britain’s second largest city but with life on the road internationally, they perform over 140 shows every year at as many as 15 venues.
With a clear organisational vision to 2026, the Birmingham Royal Ballet required a new Director of Development and after a rigorous pitch process, Prospectus were selected to lead the search.
Critical to the Director of Development’s success would be to balance the international reach of fundraising at BRB with a core base of support in the Midlands. An acute understanding of donor motivations in the performing arts space led the recruitment and profile of the selected candidate, with site tours, employee voice, and formal interviews culminating in a busy and successful interview process.
The selected candidate has deep roots within the performing arts space and importantly was able to share their ideal setup for a flexible working week, which is now the setup in-post.
