About

Anne Frank Trust is an education-focused charity that empowers young people aged 9–15 to challenge all forms of prejudice. Through its programmes, young people gain the knowledge, motivation and skills to create meaningful and lasting change, using Anne Frank’s story as a powerful foundation for conversations about fairness, identity and respect.

The Brief

Having previously supported the recruitment of the Anne Frank Trust UK’s Chair of Trustees, and most recently Treasurer, Prospectus was delighted to partner with the organisation again to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer. This was a pivotal moment for the Trust – offering the CEO the opportunity to lead the development of a new strategy. Working alongside a highly skilled Board and a passionate team, the CEO would focus on income generation, partnership development, and oversight of the Trust’s education programmes.

The Trust was seeking a passionate and ambitious leader with senior charity leadership experience, ideally within youth or education, a strong track record in income generation and organisational growth, proven skills as an ambassador, including public speaking and stewardship, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders from local communities to national partners.

Our Approach

Prospectus conducted a collaborative, values-driven search, working closely with the nominations committee to ensure the appointment brief accurately captured the Anne Frank Trust’s strategic priorities, organisational culture, and ambitions. Leveraging our extensive networks across the non-profit sector, we targeted highly qualified candidates with expertise in youth and education, a deep understanding of the challenges in this field, and the ability to build relationships across diverse communities. We had a strong response with 69 applications and a final shortlist of 11 candidates taken through to first-stage interviews. The board made their appointment from the final three candidates in the process.

The Outcome

The Board of Trustees were delighted to announce the appointment of Dan Green as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer, starting in September 2025. Dan brought a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to the Trust’s mission. Before this appointment, he spent over a decade in senior leadership roles with the global Jewish educational charity World ORT and its UK arm. He originally joined ORT UK and served as its Chief Executive, later becoming Chief Operating Officer of World ORT, and from 2020 to the end of 2024 was Director General and CEO – leading the organisation’s strategy and global programmes across many countries. His work at ORT focused on education, philanthropic development, and transformational projects that expanded opportunity and inclusive learning worldwide. Earlier in his career, Dan also spent 16 years in consumer publishing, holding senior management positions with major magazines, newspapers, and digital media brands, giving him considerable experience in strategic growth and communications.
