Alcohol Change is working towards a society that is free from the harm caused by alcohol and a future where people drink as a conscious choice, not by default. The have created evidence-driven change by working towards five key changes: improved knowledge, better policies and regulation, shifted cultural norms, improved drinking behaviours, and better support and treatment.
Prospectus were approached by Alcohol Change’s CEO to assist in the recruitment of 2 pivotal roles for the organisation; a Behaviour Change Programme Manager, working with local authorities, app developers and academics to deliver the organisation’s ‘Dry January’ programme, and a Consultancy and Training Manager, delivering strategic growth, pitching and training major companies on a range of alcohol related topics. Both roles required a niche skillset, and Alcohol Change’s CEO was keen to tap into our networks for this.
After detailed discussions, and after presenting the organisation with various different recruitment options working to their budget constraints, a shortlisting campaign was agreed for both roles to provide a quantity of candidates, value for money and speed.
From the job descriptions provided, we put together an inclusive advert, providing context and detailing the essential requirements for both roles. We advertised across our site, The Guardian and Charity Job, reached out to passive candidates across our networks (both via our database and via search platforms), and sent through the relevant information/advised of next steps to all relevant candidates who applied.
After completing the campaign, we successfully appointed both roles for Alcohol Change. Both candidates eventually came through the advert response:
i. Consultancy and Training Manager – 31 applicants applied / 15 candidates eventually sent over via shortlist. Candidate appointed had significant training experience in the third sector – their previous position being Head of External Learning Programmes at the Alzheimer’s Society.
ii. Behaviour Change Manager – 36 candidates applied / 27 completed applications were sent. Candidate appointed had previous experience at various national well-known charities and a deep background in communications, social justice and health.
