Social Care Charity

Our client is a well-established charity who support and provided services that enable older, vulnerable, disabled and disadvantaged people to live independently in Northumberland.

Through offering a wide range of services, they aim to enable people to live independently in the home of their choice, whilst also promoting physical and mental wellbeing to their service users and aim to reduce social and geographical isolation.

Due to their permanent Chief Executive Officer needing to take extended time off due to ill health, the Board approached Prospectus looking for an Interim Chief Executive Officer to provide leadership and stability in the Chief Executive Officers’s absence. With a certain complexity in their service provision the Board needed an experienced Chief Executive Offcier who understood working within the social care setting and it’s associated challenges. This role was about ‘keeping the ship steady’ – supporting staff; ensuring the services are maintained and delivered to a high standard;  overseeing the funding and finances of the organisation; and keeping an eye on recruitment/staffing (a particular challenge within social care).

Working to a very quick turnaround time, we were able to submit CVs, arrange interviews and have an offer accepted within one week. The appointed candidate brought extensive senior leadership experience from large regional housing and social care organisation, as well as an earlier career with the corporate world. Keen to build a portfolio career that offered more flexibility and variety, this was a fantastic match for both sides, with the offered candidate delighted to be able to focus their skills and experience much more locally to where they lived.
