Lead one of the UK's most influential organisations tackling health inequality

Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation
Executive Director of Impact on Urban Health
Salary: £130k
London | Hybrid working

Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation is one of the UK's largest and most ambitious independent foundations, investing in a healthier society and backing people and ideas to help everyone stay healthier for longer.

Through Impact on Urban Health, we work to tackle the deep-rooted health inequalities experienced by people living in cities. Starting in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark, we bring together communities, practitioners, policymakers, funders and partners to test new approaches, build evidence and influence change at scale.

We are now seeking an exceptional Executive Director to lead Impact on Urban Health and join the Foundation's Executive Team.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a nationally influential portfolio focused on some of the most complex health challenges facing urban communities. With responsibility for a multidisciplinary team, significant programme and grant funding, and a wide network of partners and stakeholders, the Executive Director will shape the next chapter of Impact on Urban Health's development and impact.

Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board and Executive Team, you will help strengthen the Foundation's influence, deepen partnerships across sectors, and ensure that evidence, innovation and collaboration continue to drive meaningful and lasting improvements in health inequalities.

We are interested in hearing from leaders who bring:

  • A track record of delivering meaningful social impact within complex systems, working across public, private, philanthropic or civil society environments
  • Experience of building and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams through complexity, change and ambiguity
  • The ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across sectors to create sustainable impact at scale
  • Experience of developing and delivering strategy, balancing long-term ambition with practical delivery and measurable outcomes
  • A strong commitment to health equity, inclusion and creating opportunities for communities to shape change
  • Experience of using a variety of types of data to identity priority social needs and to evaluate routes to impact, and progress

This is an opportunity to lead a talented team, work alongside exceptional partners, and help shape healthier futures for communities locally and nationally.
