Welcome to our leadership spotlight series, where we ask each leader 10 quick-fire questions so that we can give a little insight into the person behind a leadership role.

I have overall responsibility for the strategic direction of StreetDoctors, its services, its impact, its partnerships and most importantly, its role in both preventing and reducing violence affecting young people.

I am passionate about playing my part in reducing inequality. I have been a youth worker, social worker and was one of the founders of the Big Issue, where I also set up their charity The Big Issue Foundation. I have led national campaigns on prison reform at the Prison Reform Trust, young people’s mental health at YoungMinds – where I was also a Director of the organisation – and poverty at the Barrow Cadbury Trust leading their Fair By Design campaign. My lifelong commitment to social justice is to ensure that those with real life experiences are front and centre in the creation of solutions.
