The Youth Futures Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organisation set up to tackle youth unemployment, with a £90million endowment from the Reclaim Fund. They are looking for bold and impactful ways to help young people find and keep good jobs. Prospectus has been their key recruitment partner since its inception in 2019, having appointed its founding CEO, Trustees, Chair, Directors and most recently, we were delighted to help appoint Barry Fletcher as their new Chief Executive in January 2023.
Barry brings 16 years of experience in leadership positions at both charitable and commercial organisations. Passionate about leading organisations that support young people to realise their potential, Barry is leading the delivery of Youth Futures’ vision and mission, and upholding its values, as it heads into its fourth year. We attracted over 80 applicants for the role which were shortlisted to five talented individuals.
Barry has significant experience as a CEO, Trustee and Chair in a range of sectors including youth services, employment, adult education, justice, and health. In his most recent position at the North-west based youth charity, Career Connect, Barry led the organisation into the Top 50 Most Inclusive Workplaces in 2022, awarded by the National Centre for Diversity.
Youth Futures has made significant achievements since being established in 2019. It has targeted £21.9million funding from dormant assets to 159 organisations who support nearly 18,000 young people, to identify what works to improve the youth employment system.
