Director of Communications & Brand
SOS Children’s Villages is a global charity working to protect children who have lost parental care, or who are at risk of losing it, helping them to access the care they need, while supporting young people with skills training, enabling them to lead independent fulfilled lives. As a global authority on alternative care and proponent of the UN Guidelines on Alternative Care, SOS Children’s Villages works in partnership with a wide range of actors, advocating for the rights of all children and contributing towards the development of key child protection policies.
Having recently recruited SOS Children’s Villages UK Chair, Prospectus was mandated to lead the search for a Director of Communications and Brand.
This is a critical post for the charity, leading development and implementation of their communications strategy that will help drive a significant phase of growth and transformation, clearly communicating its renewed mission and vision, support vital fundraising targeting and messaging and position the organisation at the forefront of the sector and support ambitious change within the SOS Federation.
The search focused on individuals with an entrepreneurial approach and creative flair, significant leadership credentials, and a strong functional background in communications and branding.
Sarah Bradford was appointed in October 2022. She joined SOS Children’s Villages from Conciliation Resources, a £10M global NGO. Previously, Sarah held a range of leading roles in international development organisations. She started her career in the retail sector.
