We are a proud partner of Your Place – a charity dedicated to solving homelessness in East London, one person at a time. They offer hope, a home and a healing place to grow, where people who’ve lost their homes can get the individual support they need within a safe, caring community. Formally known as Caritas Anchor House, they were established in 1962 by the Catholic London Inter-Diocesan Council of the Apostleship of the Sea providing temporary accommodation to out-of-work seafarers coming in and out of nearby docks.

As London’s industrial landscape changed, and with the closure of the London Docks, fewer seafarers were seeking help. So, in the 1990s they began operating as a dedicated residential and support service for people experiencing homeless in East London, regardless of their background. Today, Your Place operate across Newham and offering, but not limited to, six core services across multiple sites;

  • Core Service – providing 117 rooms and flats for those experiencing homelessness with low-medium support needs

  • Complex Needs Service – providing 23 rooms for those who have been rough sleeping and have high-level support needs

  • Hope Street – providing 15 move-on ‘houses’ for people who have been rough sleeping with low to medium support needs

  • Direct Access Assessment Hub – providing help to people who have been rough sleeping and are coming straight from the street

  • Women’s Services – for women who have been rough sleeping and have high support needs

  • Launchpad – for men who have been rough sleeping and have medium to high support needs

Prospectus was officially appointed as Your Places’ recruitment partner in September 2021, and to date we have successfully placed 53 candidates (Feb 2023) into temporary, permanent and fixed term contract positions across the organisation.
