Our client is a regional charity that supports children and their families who are being treated for cancer.  A vital resource offered to families during an exceptionally difficult time, they provide free on-site family accommodation whilst their child is undergoing treatment, as well as specialist social workers who are able to offer invaluable practical, emotional and financial advice and support.

Due to changes internally, the Board recognised they were at a pivotal point in the organisations journey, and wanted to capitalise on the opportunity to recruit an interim CEO to lead a fundamental strategic review.  This would include assessing the processes, skills and capabilities needed to sustain and develop the charity; reviewing the services they were offering to best support patients and families; considering the optimum focus for its funding of essential investment and research; and working closely with the Board to review and strengthen governance.

In seeking the right interim candidate, we were looking for an experienced CEO and/or interim who had demonstrable experience of leading an organisation through change, from enhancing its operations through to ensuring its sustainability for the future. They needed both strategic insight and a strong operational capability; strong ambassadorial and networking/relationship building skills and a good understanding of strategic fundraising and income generation.

The successful candidate came via our networks and brought comprehensive sector and CEO/non-exec experience, including local voluntary sector knowledge and connections.

Having successfully led and grown a national charity for 10 years, she was starting to establish a portfolio career and wanted an interesting and challenging role that allowed her to utilise her broad skillset and experience to deliver tangible results.

Turnaround time from briefing to shortlist was 7 working days, with offer and candidate start date within 1 month of our briefing.
