Director of Development
Sadler’s Wells is a world leading organisation and set of venues dedicated to the performance of dance. They were seeking a new Director of Development after the previous postholder left in the summer of 2021, and Prospectus was mandated to lead the search after a competitive proposal and pitch process.
The search was national and international in scope, including both development professionals in the arts and performing sector as well as those outside of those institutions. The role is to be focused on high level relationship management and commanded experience of working at board level, and six candidates were shortlisted for first round interview after a successful assessment meeting with Ryan at Prospectus.
Hamble Wallace, the leading expert on philanthropy and dance in the UK right, returned to Sadler’s Wells as Director of Development in late September 2021 after a successful career as Head of Development at Battersea Arts Centre, Head of Major Gifts at the National Theatre and a previous senior role at Sadler’s Wells. Hamble secured this role on a flexible part-time basis, too.
