Director of Communications

Black Equity Organisation (BEO) is a new independent, national Black civil rights organisation created to dismantle systemic racism in Britain, drive generational change and deliver better lived experiences for Black people across the country. They were established by prominent Black leaders in the UK to help society wipe out racist views and move from racial negativity to cultural positivity to real Black Equity.

Prospectus was appointed to partner with the BEO to identify and attract a high calibre Director of Communications for a newly created position. The Director of Communications would play a critical role implementing strategic communications leadership and vision, driving the national and international profile of BEO to a wide range of audiences and supporting the delivery of the BEO accelerated growth model over the next five years to improve the lives of Black people in the UK.

The CEO and Trustees were delighted to appoint Eva Simpson into the role as the standout candidate, to build the internal infrastructure and support the national launch of the organisation. Eva is an award-winning journalist and editor who has held many senior and executive level positions in a 20-year journalism career across The Times, Daily Mirror, The Sun, thelondonpaper.com and John Brown Media.
