Board Members
Collaborating with civil society organisations around the world the International Budget Partnership (IBP) uses budget analysis and advocacy as a tool to improve effective governance and reduce poverty.
As a truly global organisation IBP were eager to ensure that their board was representative of the people they seek to help and the organisations that they partner with. Therefore IBP were looking to find Board Members who could bring perspectives from developing nations across the world. Specifically IBP were searching for individuals who could bring knowledge and understanding of developing nations and also senior level experience within public budgeting, strategic communications or civil society.
We are delighted to have appointed three new board members with significant senior level experience across public budgeting, strategic communications and civil society spaces. All three candidates appointed are female, two of which are from a BAME background. Those appointed are:
Jane Ellison – Former Head of Creative Partnerships at the BBC
Malado Kaba – The first and only female Finance Minister of the Republic of Guinea
Sofía Sprechmann – Program Director at CARE International
IBP noted that they were particularly pleased with the diversity that Prospectus was able to deliver at both longlist and shortlist stage as well as in the appointments. We are delighted to say that two other candidates from the shortlist have stayed in touch with IBP and plan to engage in country work pertinent to them
