Our client provides vital independent mental health services to inpatients detained under the Mental Health Act. They are currently recruiting for a passionate, proactive individual to advocate on behalf of service users in a clinical setting, to ensure that their voices are heard. This is initially a temporary role, starting as soon as possible for 6 weeks.
As an Independent Mental Health Advocate, you will provide advocacy support to service users in relation to services, care and treatment options, as well as their rights. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will take on complex cases attending key meetings with service users and healthcare professionals. You will ensure that services are responsive, sensitive and meeting the needs of the service users.
To apply for this role, you must have previous experience of providing advocacy in an inpatient setting to service users detained under the Mental Health Act. It is essential that you have an understanding of the main issues people with mental health difficulties face. You must have demonstrable experience of managing your own caseload, and of working independently to ensure that service users are supported.
To be considered, you must be available immediately and be in possession of a fully enhanced DBS check that is registered to the online update service. You will also be available to work 28 - 35 hours per week.
