Scouting is the largest mixed volunteer-led movement for young people in the UK. It is also a global phenomenon. In the early 1900’s, the Scouts’ founder Robert Baden-Powell saw at first-hand how young people’s potential was often left untapped.
The Scout Association
Scouting exists to make young people’s lives better, helping them realise their full potential and take their place in society. It helps them develop skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
Each week, they help over 460,000 young people aged 6-25 enjoy fun and adventure while developing important life skills and resilience. In addition, over 100,000 adult volunteers are involved in activities each week.
The Scout Association currently seek a Trustee with experience in Child Safeguarding – you will bring a seniority and depth of experience in settings that require child protection and will be confident in supporting and holding organisations to account through processes to navigate and understand complex risk.
