Richard Gutch, an Associate of Prospectus, the third sector recruitment agency, interviewed the chairs of 17 different third sector organisations between January and March this year. Their organisations cover children, disabled people, health and social care, and have turnovers ranging from £2.5m to £220m. Five have networks of local brances or groups. Although the interviewees are by no means representative of the sector as a whole, their views provide a valuable insight into the relatively unresearched world of third sector chairs.
