Volunteering Matters is the UK’s leading volunteering charity running social action and volunteering programmes. Volunteers make a difference to individuals and communities by supporting families in difficulty, young people leaving care, disabled and vulnerable adults and older people.
Volunteering Matters were looking for an Interim Director of Finance and Resources to join them on a fixed term contract at an exciting time for the organisation. This was an opportunity to make a difference and was an outstanding role for an experienced charity finance executive. Taking direct responsibility for the Finance, Facilities and IT functions the organisation needed a candidate who will engage with Trustees and Executive Directors on every aspect of the functional areas to deliver key strategic outcomes and projects.
Prospectus searched for candidates with a thorough understanding of charity accounts including the ability to complete, analyse and review statutory accounts and someone who had operated at a strategic level acting as a member of the leadership team.
Volunteering Matters appointed Peter Davies who is a highly experienced voluntary sector resources director with a record of success in a wide range of financial, HR, IT, administration and facilities management as well as in governance and corporate strategy, including for a limited company commercial subsidiary.
