Following a search led by Prospectus, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Markey as the new Chief Executive of The London Community Foundation.
Kate has longstanding experience working with socially-driven organisations and is passionate about their ability to effect sustainable change in communities. Kate started her career as a journalist, including a period as Editor of Big Issue in the North, before moving into social investment as Deputy Chief Executive of CAN, where she established several funds and a social impact consultancy. Most recently Kate has been Managing Director of Blue Sky, an award winning social enterprise employing ex-offenders. She is also a member of the Investment Committee of Big Issue Invest, a Board Member of the Employment-Related Services Association (ERSA) and the national advocacy charity VoiceAbility, and a member of the Advisory Council for Big Society Capital.
Kate will be taking up her position with The London Community Foundation May 21.
