The Big Lottery Fund (the Fund), the largest distributor of National Lottery Funds, responsible for funding decisions on average of £600 million per annum, has now retained Prospectus to appoint a total of three new England Committee Members on two separate occasions over the past two years. Individuals who complement the skills and the experience of existing committee members and who bring Board level expertise as well as relevant skills and experience to help them achieve transformational change.
On both occasions it was important that candidates would be excellent at building relationships with stakeholders and representing the Fund, have a good understanding of governance issues relevant to the Fund and its grant holders and demonstrate significant leadership experience.
They also sought to ensure that the Committee truly reflects modern society in all its diversity, and would particularly welcome applications from people from with strong experience outside London.
Passionate about their mission and values, they were particularly interested in candidates with good knowledge and experience of the work and the issues facing the voluntary and community, health, education or environment sectors, in addition to experience of social investment and/or working with social enterprises.
Prospectus was successful in appointing three new Committee Members: Jane Robinson, Chief Executive of Gateshead Council and the first serving CEO of a local authority to serve on the England Committee, Dr Charlie Howard, Founder and CEO of MAC-UK, a charitable company limited by guarantee working with young people with mental health problems and Tarn Lamb, the Chief Executive of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change, a charity and social enterprise which works with local communities to regenerate Cornwall’s neglected social housing estates.
