Age UK Kensington & Chelsea is an independent, local charity working at the heart of the community to make sure that older people’s voices are heard, their needs are met and their independence supported. Age UK Kensington & Chelsea provide a wide range of services including befriending, practical help, information and advice and a range of social and leisure activities. They consistently receive feedback that clients are strongly satisfied with services, which are delivered by 97 staff and over 350 volunteers.
Following the successful appointment of Age UK Kensington & Chelsea’s previous CEO, the organisation approached Prospectus again when looking to recruit a new CEO following a period of change in order to grow Age UK Kensington & Chelsea to its next level of impact. Working with the Board and building on a strong local reputation, the CEO would strategically review the current landscape and new opportunities to maximise impact and grow the services that would best support clients. The CEO would also lead the organisation externally with key stakeholders and internally with staff and volunteers, as well as partnering with like-minded organisations.
Prospectus undertook a proactive market search, utilised our contacts and database and undertook a transparent advertising campaign. We targeted over 140 people to identify the best possible talent in the market. After assessing the applications and interviewing the strongest talent, Age UK Kensington & Chelsea progressed with four candidates to final interview, with three of these candidates coming from our search.
Jess Millwood was appointed to the post of CEO. Originally a campaigner, Jess was approached by Prospectus in her role as Deputy CEO at Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, a post which saw her identify, develop and successfully implement business growth and development through stakeholder relationships. She brings solid experience of working with stakeholders in the health arena and of developing and implementing successful strategies and business plans.
